profile New Zealand artist Sharyn Lee Hoskin creates in her studio/gallery barn in the coastal area of North Taranaki. A mainly self-taught artist, having completed a short full time art course many years ago, Sharyn then began to experiment with the art of airbrushing which is now the predominant style throughout her original paintings. Sharyn Lee Hoskin is well known for the bright vibrant use of colour in her original landscape paintings (a specialty being sunsets) and in the art of the human form. Acrylics are used for the vibrancy and intensity of colour that Sharyn is looking for in her original painting whether they are painted on paper or canvas. All canvas paintings are sprayed with a protective varnish, unless they are painted in specialized waterproof paint. Paintings on paper are recommended to be framed under glass. The studio/gallery is open by appointment for viewing or during summer months, open as advertised. Commissions will be considered upon request!
